this Mixer is crazy for the Price. Apr 28, 2009
By Desmond Walker
"DEZ5"
I've been doing studio work for several years now and I was scared to buy this mixer, because of the name Behringer. I checked it out at Sam Ash and guitar center for several weeks, and I was still hesitant.
On microphone input it has 3 band EQs, compressors/limiter Noise gate, Talk on (Music ducking) reverb, Pitch, Echo and a list that runs a mile long.
The line input has beat counter that syncs to the build in effects echo, reverb, Pitch, This is great for reggae and club music.
Some of the other features are the 32 Second Sampler, Crossover, sub- output, and enhancer, S/PDIF, MIDI in and out and it comes with rack ears. This mixer should cost thousands of dollars for what it can do.
I'm currently trying to set up the Midi control commands for Serato and apple Logic pro.
I used to be scared of Behringer, but after seeing this mixer, I'm checking out all their products with a different view.

A Powerful Mixer....A bit of a Learning Curve Oct 29, 2010
By Jerry J. Cain Behringer DDM4000 DJ Mixer
I am a beginner DJ, my genre is in House predominately but I am expanding my musical interests outside the House Genre. When it comes to the DDM4000 DJ Mixer by Behringer, I have to say that this mixer is certainly not for the faint of heart, the controls are everywhere and the user experience is a bit more advanced than I expected, but overall the mixer will prove its mettle when push comes to shove in all genres of music.
The more highlighted features are the sampler and the effects as well as the number of channels I can use. I played around with the effects a little while and am loving the sound that is being produced. Surprisingly, the sound doesn't sound so cracked or broken. The smoothness of the sound is great. I also like the kill switches that it has. Although I had a little while to explore this mixer, I can confidently say I DID NOT waste money. Granted, Pioneer may make a solid mixer themselves, the price that Behringer was right down my alley.
Kudos to Behringer for providing a mixer that has all the bells and whistles you can want at the price that this economy needs.

Great mixer for the price Oct 14, 2009
By E. Zelkowitz This mixer is exactly what I hoped it would be. For the price you really cant beat it in features. Despite it being under the behringer name which in the past has made some very questionable products this one seems to hold up nicely and I have no complaints nor have I found anyone else with any. The only issue I have is with the bright leds, I had hoped that since I had made this order a few years after this has been in production that I would receive a newly manufactured product since the newer runs have different leds that are not as bright. Unfortunately my unit was produced over a year ago and still had the bright leds. There was no real way to guarantee this so this is not a complaint against the shipper, but just be wary that you can end up with a few extra bright leds.

Not built like a tank, but performs like one Jun 28, 2011
By Skoolboy Received this mixer in amazing time, 2 days from order to doorstep with standard shipping. I'm a performance dj, doing multiple club events thru out the week as well as doing my own events during the month so I need a mixer that will take night after night of abuse. I've read where some people don't suggest this as a club install, but with optical faders on the channels and the ability to upgrade to optical on the crossfader for less than $60.00 this mixer can take a bit of abuse. One thing that grabbed at me is the ability to customize your outputs for pretty much any scenario. Having storable user presets is also good, when you have multiple dj's with different mixing styles, getting back to your settings is as easy as a few button pushes. Sound quality is amazing, no signal hum. My mixer has one flaw but I'm guessing that'll be sovled by upgrading the crossfader. Tracks are only cut out on the right side of the mixer, but I compensate for this by using the crossfader assign. Besides all this the mulitiple kills, effects, and ability to customize the the set up of the mixer and outputs make this well worth the money. Fader knobs, and eq knobs do feel a bit toyish but with all the features packed into the price the build of the mixer can be over looked, just don't abuse it too much.
Mixer update...Aug 23 2011
So I've had this mixer for a little bit of time now, since I first purchased it I have upgraded the crossfader to the optical crossfader which was easy to install and is operating amazingly.
New things I've found..Okay so I've done a bit of midi mapping it to tracktor using the center 2 channels as normal, the outer channel faders 1 and 4 are my pitch faders, and the eq kills on either side of the mixer are assigned as my cue, and play. I use the effects buttons for pitch nudge. You can play around with this as much as you want but I've found it flexible for mobile applications.
As a club mixer this thing has been amazing. It's held up to night after night of abuse, and the ability to change your outputs thru the mixer has eliminated the need for my crossover in my rack unit, i still use compression and gating but its freed up a rack space so i put in a multiband graphic eq.
All in all this mixer has performed well beyond what I had hoped it would and it pairs up great with any large format cd player...currently mine rests between two american audio radius 3000's.
If you're in a crunch for cash but want something that will not only get you by but you'll be beyond satisfied with then this is the unit for you. Perfect performance, suprising durability and amazing sound.

No Comparison at this price Jun 18, 2011
By Neel I bought this in Oct 2009 and have been using it since then as the main mixer with my Dj setup. Though I am not a pro dj but I play for nothing less than 8-10 hrs every week. The mixer is great and nothing has gone wrong with it so far in last two years. I have seen it being constantly compared to Pioneer mixers which is not right. It is responsive , beat counters work well, the faders are great, some effects are not that useful (also effect response is not that great that). Finally for the price it is great.
