5Great amp!  Jan 03, 2008 By Jose Martinez "Jose Pablo Martinez"
Being an active keyboard player, I previously owned a powerful 150W Peavey KB300 -which sounded BIG...but also weighted BIG- and a trusty little Peavey KB/A15 -a nice not so powerful 15W two channel amp-. I sold the KB300 some years ago and kept the KB/A15 because it was more comfortable when taking it to a gig.
When I read about the Behringer K900FX I thought it was to good to be true: 3 independent channels, 5 band EQ, 90W, 40 pounds, 100 digital effects, line out, XLR mic in, cd in, subwoofer out and a NICE PRICE. Woooowwww!!!! I decided it was time for a change!
I bought it about one month ago and I still didn't take it to a gig, but it sounds great! If this amp keeps working like this in the future, I think I won't be tempted to change for a loooooooong time. It has no noticeable hiss, very good bass response and clear highs. If the 12 inch woofer isn't enough, you can feed an active subwoofer through the subwoofer out. You won't find many keyboard amps with this extra. The digital effect presets are quite usable and I find no degrading of the signal. Another important issue I was aware of was weight. After my bone marrow transplant three years ago, I decided I didn't want to carry an 80 pound mastodon anymore. With about 40 pounds (18.8k), the K900FX's weight is OK for me.
I'll use the K900FX just alone -in small to medium places- or sending my keyboard rig through my Behringer Xenix 1202FX mixer in bigger gigs: the mixer's main out to the house's sound system and the control room out to the K900FX. This way, I can use the amp as a quality monitor WITHOUT LOSING CONTROL OF MY VOLUME and let the guy in the main mixer do his stuff without bothering me.
I can't wait to give my new K900FX its baptism of fire!!!!!!!

3Not a first choice for keyboards  Nov 11, 2011 By Enlightener
I had very little of an idea about what to expect when I ordered this amp since I had never tried the Behringer brand before. I was in the market for an amp that could be used in a small to medium sized restaurant setting/venue with my Yamaha CP33 stage piano. Unfortunately, even with Amazon's large discount at the time, I was disappointed with this Behringer product within the first few minutes of trying it out. My primary reason is the sound quality which I expected would do a much better job of creating a piano's dynamic range.

The sound it produced was far from vibrant and full; I would describe it plainly as dull and closed in. Not downright horrible, but just mediocre for piano performance where I wanted the closest sound replication of the real thing as possible. This was true at all volumes for not just piano but organ, strings, marimba and also electric bass sounds. A couple other notes; I did not try using a mic and speaking through it since for my gigs I have no reason to. Also, if you are looking for an amp that is easy to carry, this one would probably be more weight than you'd be looking for.

I gave it a few days in my living room to see whether it would grow on me. But my opinion stayed the same. As an amazon prime member, I was able to ship the amp back for free so I wasn't left with any bad taste in my mouth. I was actually glad I gave this reasonably-priced amp a try. Quality and long-term reliability are certainly other considerations, but it's had to break the bank up-front with Behringer. Then again, I have resolved to expand my research to active PA speakers and brands like Yamaha or JBL. More money, but likely much more value!

4Excellent value  May 14, 2010 By Alastair Dallas
Very solid amp, punchy sound. I tried out a Roland KC-150 Stereo Mixing Keyboard Amplifier and returned it. This amp is more watts and a hundred effects ahead, for a 33% savings. (To be fair, it's like comparing a Mercedes to a Toyota...but I drive a Toyota.) I don't notice any tonal coloration between my powered M-Audio studio monitors and this amp, so the next two things are distortion and rugged construction--I hurt my ears trying to make it distort with my (Yamaha MO6) keyboard. The knobs stick out--they'll snap off if you drop the thing, but you can't hurt them or make them drift just by turning. The case is abuse-ready, as you'd expect, with metal corners and a perforated-metal speaker guard. It's a little heavy for its size, but some keyboard amps are 80 pounds and this is only 44 or so--you wouldn't want an amp that people say is lighter than it looks. I plan to use this for backyard gigs and I didn't want to set it on wet grass, so I was glad that it has a built-in hole for a speaker stand. One American Audio SPS1B Black Tri Pod Speaker Stand later and I've got a sustainable solution. Our band has live drums and louder guitarists...I can't play on vol. 2, but the Behringer puts out enough power to let me be heard.

5Great value  Dec 21, 2009 By Private
Bought it for use with my keyboard, very convenient the multiple inputs including the mic plug. The effects work very well, the sound is clean, no hums or hisses, perfect. I have not tested it yet in a real gig with loud volume. Highly recommended.

5Behringer for my one-woman show!!  Jun 02, 2011 By uneed2prayusa
This PA system is heavy-duty, awesome. Well worth the money. Sound options (equalizers) are helpful -- I'm not an electronic buff, but I know sound, and this baby's got it. I'm using this in our church fellowship hall for two of my keyboards and my mic. My equipment is not the top-dollar best, however, it's been working well for me for some years, and now with this system, the sound quality has been greatly enhanced.

I'm very satisfied with my purchase. This song bird can go on singing a little while longer :) PTL!!
