Bought the item to power 2 JBL JRX125 speakers through a Mackie mixer. I was running these speakers with a 50 watt amp, so with this 800 watt amp I was expecting quite a bit more volume. It gives me what I need for a medium size gig, but not a bunch extra like I was hoping for - but it's still a very nice product. Guess I need to up the wattage if I want to blow eardrums.

I own two of these massive amps and have (depending on my needs for the gig) run them in a variety of configurations. They have always served me well.. Indoors, outdoors, small venue or large. Chances are, if you aren't getting what you want from these amps, you either (a)have unrealistic expectations or (b)you must be doing something wrong. My only gripe is that yes.. They may be capable of 4ohm mono and 2 ohm stereo loads.. But I certainly don't recommend doing it for long "balls to the wall" gigs. This may very well be tough amp but you can see it struggling with these loads. If you push it too far you may have a campfire on your hands.

My band lost a member and he owned one of our PA power amps. We had to get a new one so we decided on the Crown XLS 802D. What a nice amp this is. It is powerful and quiet. You can hear the difference from the old amp that we had used before. No problems with it so far. Nothing but good quality sound. I hope to replace our old Phonic with another Crown before long.
