Awesome cdj, Although DJs always talk down about cdjs, if you are looking to mix this is for you 100% with all the added cueing features, sampler, looper, and effects amazing.
if you are looking to scratch vinyl is hands down still the best but for basic scratching fine. If you buy this and are looking for a mixer i would recommend staying away from denon mixers although you would think they work better together, faders are garbage.

i love my dns 3500s, & contrary to the other reviewer have had no problems with them at all, & find them much easier to use (intuitive) than the pioneers...

DJing is a human art. It totally relies on the DJ being able to express themself while playing. The problem with the Denon company is that they created a product with all the bells and whistles to do everything but forgot to make sure that all the units handled the basic DJ function of PLAYING MUSIC. The unit has major problems with pitch control. In scratch mode you have an up and down chipmunking issues. You can switch modes and things are at speed but then you are not DJing. I thought I was alone with this problem but then as I checked the blogs I realized that this was a callous move done by Denon in sending out the defective decks and then acting as though the public is confused. I have lost all respect for Denon and will definitely be purchasing another product from them. The only thing that hurt, though, is that the units, outside of the idiotic ptch problems, are the absolute perfect deck. The built in effects are absolutely the most functional, practical and user friendly for live situations and the other features are extremely user friendly. It's a shame this dream deck was just too good to be true.

Feature:
A lot of great features for the price. Too bad the unit would not function properly.
Quality:
The DN-S3500 has an issue with the pitch and platter speeding up. Denon has not been able to fix this issue. The units come back after servicing from Denon with the same issue. Replacement units develop the same issue as well. I personally had to send mine out twice. I had to switch to pioneer.
Value:
What's more worse than a completely unreliable machine? Knowing what I know about it...I would have to be paid to own it, as being an owner means you are a guinea pig beta tester for OS upgrades that always have issues.
Desirability:
Never again would I want this machine or the frustrations I experienced with the unending problems, sending it out to get it serviced and receiving it back with the same issue, and the rude and unhelpful customer support received. Again check denondjforums under dn_s3500 and djforums in Turntable/CD Players.
Sound:
The sound is good when not chipmunked by the speeding up pitch issue that Denon has not fixed.
Ease of Use:
Not very good. It's learnable, but too many steps involved to do things. Not as intuitive or straight forward as a pioneer.
Support:
check Denondjforums and djforums to see how many people have this problem and how no one has gotten it resolved. Also, how rude and unhelpful Denon is to their customers. Denon would rather spend time making their customers feel stupid than fixing their issues. Poor quality control, and even poorer customer service.
Overall:
I replaced this unit with the CDJ800mk2. Even though it has less features, I'm happier that I have a more reliable unit.
