Just a few changes I would make Aug 14, 2011

I purchased this case for a recording mixer I use primarily in my home, but wanted more protection for the rare occasions I do travel with it. The case I had been using was a SKB 1skb-106dj Case Dj Station. While it was much lighter than this marathon case, it only offered a dust cover for protection, so it made loading in a trailer kind of difficult. The purchase of this case coincided with the purchase of a new mixer that was larger and had a large rear panel. The one thing I wish was different about this case's design is that the back of the case was removable the same way the front is. Because only a small door opens (actually opens on a hinge instead of completely removing from the case), part of the case above the rear door opening ends up blocking some of the output jacks on the rear panel of my mixer. To accommodate for this, I had to remove the "Marathon" name plate and mount the mixer 1 rack space closer to the front of the case.
Overall, the build quality is very good and affordable compared to similar products from other manufacturers. For the mixer I use, it would just be much more beneficial if the front and rear of the case were designed to remove from the case in the same way.
