Yes, you are paying a little extra for peace of mind and the reputation of Mogami gold quality. I found this to be a good investment if you are meticulous about your sound. Compared to my old cable, the Mogami Gold produced a more transparent sound... you might have to do a side by side comparison to get the idea. When recording guitar, I am able to clearly hear individual strings while playing overdriven chords. No matter your playing style, this cable will work well with your sound.

I have been playing guitar for over 20 years and these cables rock! Do your own research if you want but awesome cables do contribute to tone and noise reduction. I will never buy any other cables. The price on Amazon vs other online sellers, you just cannot beat the price!

I must admit that I never gave much thought about guitar cables until very recently. I was playing my guitar one night, and the sound just cut off? I couldn't figure what happened, but then I changed my guitar cord, and I had sound again. I later learned that some cheap cables die out, and don't offer a true tone from your instrument. I was told to buy Mogami or Monster cable. I checked out some videos on youtube to see what others were saying, but to be honest I didn't really notice a change in tone. In the end I figured I'll try Mogami because I was told it has a warmer tone. Well, I just finished playing with it tonight, and was blown away with the quality of tone! It was so much more warmer and deeper tone then I ever had before! I even switch back to my old guitar cord to see if I could tell the difference, and my old cable sounded shallow and weak. Now I will only use Mogami cable. I highly recommend them. Don't just go for the cheap cords because your guitar tone will suffer. Go for Mogami, and let the music flow!
