 Basic DJ Mixer With More Bells & Wistles Apr 29, 2011

Basic Mixer With effects.
Higher level than most entry level mixers.
Kills switches are great for perfected mixing.
Digital NOT anolag mixer, which means the sound is going to be cleaner
My Preference:
Im a entry turntablist 2 years djing.
I was either going to get Numark x5 or numark x6. But I decided to get numark x6 and heres why:
Numark x5 is still very good mixer but x6 has those kill switches which are very useful for mixing. x6 also has effects that numark x5 doesnt have.
One problem tho is that numark x5 has a better fader than X6 (In turntablism, the fader is the most important!).
My solution? I bought an Innofader for the numark x6. Now it has more bells and wistles and even a better fader! (not that the X6 has a bad fader)
Conclusion:
Know what type of DJ you are (club, Scratcher, ect), don't just go for looks and do your homework when shopping!
DJ's differ from one another on what they need, dont just copy or listen to what others tell you to buy (but consider them tho)

You know this is the most fun I've had with these mixers. I love the functions, and this is my 2nd of the same series. As a DJ I really am sad to see this is an older model. It's a good mixer.

This thing sounds great, isn't too big, and controls like a dream. Output configuration is pretty versatile for a standard DJ mixer. Effects/filters sound absolutely amazing. If you can find it for less than $100, do not hesitate to jump on it -- I was lucky enough to find mine for $50 and it's the best equipment investment I've made in years.

this is a well built mixer, it feels solid to the touch, no fader bleed as of yet and the fact its a 24-bit digital mixer means it has high quality sound. It has 2 sets of outputs, Balanced (1/4") and RCAs. the only real down side is that there is no Left/Right balance knob and the 1/4" inch and Rca outputs NEED to have seprite "Gain" controls.
the 12 Effects are cool, (6 on music and 6 on mic)
im giving only 4 stars and not 5 due to the lack of a Balance Left/Right control

Yo. First off this mixer is made from high quality materials, from aesthetic to knobs to crossfader. Very smooth faders. Nice rubber knobs and the nice feel on the paint. Compare to Numark's M series which totally useless after a week of use. Plus the X6 is really affordable bang for the buck!!! The reason I gave it 4 stars because of the FX which is hard to set. There is no guide like, the percentage, the count 1/2, 1/1 etc. and the X6 is short (look like M series) compare to X5 (good looking mixer). Other than that this is a must have mixer for any dj who wants an affordable but high quality mixer! Peace!
