 quick expansion to your sound system, does not play iPod May 07, 2011

I was running out of inputs on my current audio receiver, but reluctant to spend hundreds to get a new one with more audio inputs. so, I thought about expanding with a mixer, that way I can connect more audio sources. this one serves my purpose well and was cheap enough to leave aside if I will need further expansion. I also have a couple microphones that I connected to the mixer, and the kids actually sang with it while watching some YouTube videos almost like karaoke. I was glad that it has a USB input, so you can put mp3 audio files on a USB stick and plug it in. the mixer will take a few seconds to search and start playing. there are control buttons for the USB player to skip, pause, stop, etc. unfortunately, the USB can not control/play iPod products

Pyle-Pro PMX5U Professional 3-Stereo Channel DJ Mixer w/USB Player, is a small but quailty mixer for standard uses, but not for DJs. Reason why? if your planning on doing a set this product doesn't have a cue feature to listen to each seperate channel, only a volume knob for both channels. Now if your'e planning to play a song til it goes off then slide the fader over to start the next song then thats whats this mixer is for. You can also play music from your flash & memo stick thats cool but thats all!
