5staton t62 direct drive turntable  Feb 10, 2010 By A. Hoffman
This turntable is great and the sound quality exceeded my expectations. This table has decent torque but if you are into scratching you might need a better slipmat or put a piece of wax paper under the included slipmat, as the stock slipmat tends to have a tad too much friction to overcome. I use this table for general listening and am very pleased with the sound quality using this table in combination with a behringer phono preamp and a Teac reference series receiver. The table has plenty of torque to clean your records with a carbon fibre brush and seems to be slightly more powerful than a Technics sl-17000 mk1 that my father owns. The included 500v3 cartridge sounds great with very low surface noise and tracks great at 3 grams (recommended range is 2-5 grams). This table has a ground cable which works well as there are no humming or buzzing noises. Sound quality is very clear and while the platter itself is fairly lightweight the slipmat helps dampen it and I don't hear any resonance or other interference in the sound. There is also no noticeable motor noise or rumble that I could perceive. The table itself seems sturdy and weighs about 17 lbs total. The rca cables and power cord are detachable which is a nice feature that even Technics tables don't have. The manual doesn't explain how to adjust the height of the feet for leveling the turntable but you can loosen the feet by turning them counterclockwise which will in turn raise that corner of the turntable. Overall this a great turntable for the money.

5I Like Stan  Mar 27, 2010 By Jayme L. Lehman
After reading hundreds of reviews here on amazon and also on new egg, my brothers and I settled on this turntable as a gift for our father. What led us to decide on this particular model was that it is a direct drive (no belts!!), it is made of quality materials, the reasonable price, and it is a straight-forward turntable. No ipod docks, no fancy shmancy DJ hook-ups, no weird, cheap plastic pieces. Do take note that this particular model tends to sell out quickly once amazon receives it, but unlike some others which can take up to three months to ship, Stan will be on his way to you as soon as you purchase it, and they do restock within a month or so.

We had no trouble assembling the turntable, just put the pieces in their places. There were instructions included, but we didn't really need them. The audio cables that come with it are pretty short though, so if your other audio equipment is more than three feet away, be prepared to find some other cables. One of the things we were looking for in the turntable was the ease of recording and converting vinyl to mp3 format, and although there are plenty of turntables out there that do this easily, most of the reviews for the turntables and the sound quality were fair to unfavorable. In doing some more research, we found that you can just connect your amplifier output line to your computer, download some free programs like Audacity, and record and parse away with much better sound quality. A little more work in the long run if this is your aim, but you'll be happier with the overall product and results when Stan is playing your records.

5great sound  Mar 04, 2010 By S. Michael
Works and sounds great. Plays old 45 and 33 rpm records without problem.
There is no way to lock the head pressure weights to prevent movement.
Does not have auto start or auto stop/shut off.
Even with those inconveniences, am satisfied with the quality of the product.

5I will never go back to CDs  Aug 19, 2010 By Todd Poehl
This vinyl player is just amazing. I almost can't explain in words what this player has done to my listening experiences. The only thing you need to add to this purchase is a 20 to 30 dollar preamp. This will boost the sound from the player to an unequaled level. I can't stop buying vinyls. The sound is beautiful.

5Great Turntable  Jun 17, 2011 By Nail YUCE
If you are looking for a robust turntable, for home comfort usage, this is it, I'm using it with technics receiver SAAX7, it performs pretty good. I appreciated especially the direct drive technology. I used to have a belt drive turntable, I don't advice anybody to use belt drive turntable
The only missing part is the dust cover of T62, it is not solid cover but a clothe
