| | Description | The HS Series powered monitors were designed to be true studio reference monitors in the tradition of the famous NS10Ms. When choosing your next pair of near field reference monitors, remember it's not just important that they sound good; they have to be an honest reference for your mix. The new HS Series of reference monitors were designed to give you exceptionally flat response so you can really trust what you hear. That means that mixes that sound good on Yamaha HS speakers will sound good on anything. In fact, that's the ultimate test of a reference monitor. Even better than that, HS series speakers not only sound good, they look great, too. | |

Tremendous Sound May 28, 2008
By B. T. Larkin I got these after testing a variety of monitor speakers at a Guitar Center. These sounded much clearer and sharper than more expensive models. This set (HS50M) brings out the highs and middles but not the bass frequencies. So, you'll need the companion HS10W subwoofer for a full sound spectrum.

"Mindful"
A few days ago, I got these HS50M Yamaha studio monitors and the truth that I was not disappointed, the quality is great, the sound they give me is just a flat response quen compared with other monitors sold in the market.
Something that if I needed, could be a complement of Woofer, in my case I work in ambient music composition is not as crucial use of the supplement, but if we were talking about a hip hop producer and drum n bass, then you serious consideration the use of this supplement. But anyway, I'm not complaining about anything, as I mentioned is the value for money.
Best Budget Speakers May 05, 2012
By User So, I bought this from someone used for $300. Could not be happier! They have room EQ and reverb switches, allowing you to make sure they sound good in your room! They offers enough bass, but not to much like KRK and other ones do. But, the clarity is outstanding! You hear EVERYTHING! For mixing, these are the ay to go!
perfect for mixing and criticle listening Jan 19, 2012
By M. Grammar researched the internet extensively before I decided to go with the Yamaha HS50m. in the end these studio monitor had the most positive reviews on the net. they are not flat, sound is hyped up in the mids and show warts and all very well. these are monitors to fix problems not made for casual listening although I'm starting to enjoy listening to them for that as well. very clear and detailed and you don't need to listen at a high volume. all in all I couldn't be happier with my purchase. they exceeded my expectations and I didn't have to break the bank to do it although I was willing to shell out more than I did...great value!
