Ive purchased TR-1 because it eliminate jog wheel and cross fader which i dont use it when i play techno.
Another great part of TR-1 is play button is very nice feel. My finger doesnt get tired for long play and also other knobs feel is excellent.
Recently, we are able to get dj controller with sound card built in.
However, I dont know how good quality of these sound card is.
I own motu ultralite mk3 which is great sound quality and there are 8 input and midi in/out.
I often play other midi hardware device along with traktor. So i need motu as input device for hardware instrument, midi connector, and quality of sound.
In general,i dont like vestax analog dj mixer sound quality compare to allen&heath or rane but TR-1 is only controller has no sound out.
To compare with other dj controller like VCI-100 is more like commercial product and not for professional user.
i recommend TR-1 for person who play mostly techno/house and has good soundcard, someone who wants to use one dj controller for long time.

I have had this controller for over a month now and I must say I love it. It was easily mapped to Virtual DJ (natively mapped for Traktor Pro). The buttons are comfortable. The pitch sliders are amazingly accurate AND smooth. Channel faders and all the knobs are ridiculously smooth. The build quality is remarkable. Materials are of the finest. This thing is sturdy and built like a tank. Because it is a MIDI controller, it should map easily to any software that accepts MIDI control and allows for MIDI mapping. You don't have to be anchored or stuck with Traktor.
At first, I missed not having jogwheels and some people might not ever feel comfortable without them. I finally got used to not having them. Having the ability to program the pitch bend buttons to my specs, assigning FWD and REW buttons and having pre-programmed CUE points on all of the tracks in my set goes along way in getting over not having jogwheels. It isn't for everybody, but it works great for me.
